Xico to Open New Milk Collection Center

In a significant boost to Xico's dairy sector, Rocío Nahle, the Secretary of Energy, announced an investment of 32 million pesos for the construction of a new milk collection center. This initiative aims to modernize local dairy production by providing producers with the necessary infrastructure for the collection, cooling, and storage of raw milk.
The center will enhance the quality and safety of milk produced in the region by utilizing advanced cooling tanks to prevent spoilage and maintain freshness until it can be shipped to processing plants. This not only improves the profitability of local farms but also benefits the broader dairy industry by ensuring higher-quality raw materials.
This public investment also carries a strong social support component, particularly aimed at smaller producers who often lack the resources to invest in their own cooling facilities. By offering a shared service, the project promotes equity and strengthens community ties among local dairy farmers.
Nahle's announcement illustrates how public investment can act as a catalyst for regional development. By channeling resources into strategic projects like this milk collection center, the local dairy economy receives a significant boost, creating a more conducive environment for growth in the agricultural sector overall.
