VTB Sells Agroholding 'Labinsky' to 'Prostory' Structures
The sale of 'Labinsky' was reported to 'Izvestia' by a top manager of a major agro-industrial company, an investment banker, and a source in a large agroholding. All sources are familiar with the situation from the words of the deal participants. A VTB representative declined to comment, and 'Prostory' did not respond to the request.
According to one of the sources, the agreement was concluded in mid-September 2026. According to him, the deal amounted to approximately 50 billion rubles.
'Labinsky' consolidates assets in the Krasnodar region. They operate in crop production, dairy farming, and meat processing. According to BEFL's assessment in May 2026, the agroholding's land bank comprised 218 thousand hectares.
In December 2024, VTB announced the acquisition of these assets, categorizing them as an investment. The bank expected to sell them profitably in the future. In April 2026, VTB head Andrey Kostin announced the group's intention to exit the agricultural business, stating that several buyers were interested in the agro-complex.
At the end of August, VTB's Deputy Chairman of the Board, Dmitry Pyanov, announced the signing of a preliminary agreement with the terms for the sale of 'Labinsky'. The buyer was not named at that time. VTB planned to complete the deal by the end of 2026.
'Prostory' operates agricultural businesses in several regions of Russia. The holding includes AFG 'National', which the group calls one of the leading grain producers and the largest rice producer in the country. According to BEFL's ranking in May 2026, 'Prostory's' land bank was 449 thousand hectares; the holding ranked 11th among the largest owners of agricultural land in Russia.
