In France, a “dung” riot is flaring up with renewed vigor, writes GorodChe. French farmers are throwing manure and hay at bank branches and supermarkets to protest against rising taxes and rising prices for fuel and animal feed.
French farmers tried a similar measure a year ago. They brought bales of hay to large supermarkets and rolled them into the entrance to the store, blocking the road for visitors. Farmers were outraged by rising inflation and protested over rising prices for fuel and feed.
This year, “dung” riots broke out in Toulouse. There, farmers doused the local administration building with liquid manure and dumped a bale of hay with garbage and manure in front of the entrance. They added car tires to the “installation” and then set it on fire. It is curious that the police made no arrests, and after the protests, the farmers returned to the farms and began to work.
