Vermont Creamery Marks 40 Years with Launch of Hooper, a New Washed-Rind Artisan Cheese
Since its founding in 1984 by Allison Hooper and Bob Reese, Vermont Creamery has been a pioneer in bringing French-style goat cheese and cultured dairy products to American consumers. Over the past four decades, the company has expanded its product line to include a variety of award-winning cheeses and culinary creams, earning over 400 national and international accolades.
To commemorate this milestone, Vermont Creamery introduces Hooper, a Geotrichum rind cheese inspired by Allison’s cheesemaking roots in Brittany, France. Washed with a French sea salt brine, Hooper delivers a blend of fruity, savory, and buttery flavors. The cheese, made in small batches from local goat and cow’s milk, adds a unique visual appeal to cheese boards with its donut-shaped form.
General Manager Harry Kahn remarked, "A new aged goat cheese honoring Allison’s legacy perfectly captures the essence of Vermont Creamery’s 40-year journey and sets the stage for the future."
Hooper is now available at Whole Foods, independent cheese shops, and online via Murray’s Cheese Shop for an exclusive six-month period.
