Cottage Cheese Production in Russia Increases by 10.7% from January to April 2026

In Russia, cottage cheese production increased by 10.7% in the period from January to April 2026 compared to the same period last year, reaching 182,000 tonnes. Growth was also recorded in the cheese segment.
In the first four months of the year, Russian enterprises produced 285,000 tonnes of cheese, an increase of 3.7% compared to the previous year.
The production of fermented dairy products, excluding sour cream, increased by 1.7%, reaching 740,000 tonnes.
However, several dairy categories experienced a decline. The production of milk, excluding raw milk, decreased by 0.6% to 2 million tonnes. Butter production fell by 5.4% to 108,000 tonnes.
Overall, food production in Russia decreased by 4.2% in April 2026 compared to the previous month, while the production of beverages increased by 7.9%.
