From November 3, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on the import of animals into Russia from some provinces of the Netherlands due to the detection of the bluetongue virus in the country, the agency said in a statement.

“In connection with the detection of bluetongue virus serotype 3 in the Netherlands, from November 3 Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on the import into Russia from the provinces of Flevoland, Utrecht, North Holland and South Holland of the Netherlands of large and small ruminants, wild, zoo and circus animals , susceptible to bluetongue, camels and other representatives of the camelid family, sperm of bulls, rams and breeding goats, embryos of large and small ruminants,” the service reported.
In addition, the transit of large and small livestock and susceptible animal species from these provinces through Russian territory is limited.
