The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved an updated program for the development of interstate standards for the Customs Union's technical regulation 'On the Safety of Milk and Dairy Products' (CU TR 033/2013). The decision was made at a meeting on September 2, reports Dairynews.today citing an EEC press release.
EAEU Approves New Program for Developing Dairy Product Standards
The new version of the program, prepared considering the proposals of EAEU member countries and the results of the previous 2022 program, provides for the development or revision of 73 interstate standards by the end of 2029.

The main responsibility for preparing the standards will fall on the Russian Federation, which is tasked with developing 60 projects. Kazakhstan will prepare nine projects, and Armenia will prepare two. Additionally, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will jointly develop two interstate standards dedicated to national dairy products.

The updated program plans to create several new standards covering product categories such as milk protein concentrates, dry hydrolysates of whey proteins for infant nutrition, raw and drinking sheep's milk, as well as dairy products intended for preschool and school-aged children.

The EEC Board's decision will come into force 30 calendar days after its official publication.
