The price of cheddar at GDT trading increased by 6.3%

The value of the price index for dairy products at the 349th GDT trading on February 6, 2023 was 1106 points, 45 percentage points higher than previous trading. The weighted average price for dairy products at the GDT auction was $3.571/kg. Taking into account the weakening of the ruble compared to previous trading, the weighted average price for dairy products in Russian currency increased by 6% to 325.8 rubles/kg, which is 34% higher than the beginning of February 2023.

A total of 24,836 tons of dairy products were sold at the auction, 73 tons less than at the previous auction. The number of bidders is 172.

Prices continued to rise for SCM (+3.4%), SOM (+4.6%), butter (+10.3%), anhydrous milk fat (+3.3%), cheddar (+6.3% ), lactose (+2.6%), buttermilk (+1.2%). The price of mozzarella decreased by 1.8%.

The next Global Dairy Trade auction will take place on February 20, 2024.
