Advancements such as barns, milking robots, accelerometers, and specialized software are increasingly adopted within the dairy industry.
Transformative Technologies Reshaping the Dairy Business
In recent years, the dairy industry has witnessed a robust investment process in technology across many farms: tools like barns, milking robots, accelerometers, and specific software for monitoring cow health and reproduction are spreading among advanced producers. This trend is fueled by societal demands to enhance animal welfare and offer high-quality products generated through environmentally friendly systems.

During the recent Fourth Annual Pro Milk Club Meeting, a panel was held with three producers from Santa Fe, Córdoba, and Buenos Aires, discussing why it is worthwhile to invest in dairy production using these tools and which ones are being incorporated into their businesses.
Raúl Beltramino, the founder and general manager of a family business operating since 1981, leads a company managing 5,110 hectares, of which 90% are rented. They produce milk in eight dairy farms with 2,700 cows, employing two production systems: confinement and pasture.

Guido Bandiera oversees the strategy and operational control of the Mareuba SA dairy farms, milking 1,800 cows producing 38 liters per day per cow, in various confinement systems. Kevin Donelly focuses on animal welfare in barn systems after facing issues in the dry lot.
In summary, the Fourth Annual Pro Milk Club Meeting highlighted that the industry offers several tools for enhancing productivity management and providing traceability for consumers, essential for remaining viable in the future.
