At the X meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia, Deputy Prime Ministers Serik Zhumangarin and Mher Grigoryan discussed a wide range of issues on the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Armenia increased by 23% by the end of 2023: from $43.1 to $53.1 million, The DairyNews reports with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Exports from Kazakhstan to Armenia increased by 18.9% (from $28 million to $33.4 million), imports – by 31% (from $15 to $19.7 million).
As part of the expansion of cooperation between the countries, the Kazakh side has formed and sent for consideration a list of 70 processed export goods in the fields of metallurgy, petrochemistry, food industry in the amount of $348.2 million. At the meeting of the IPC, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan proposed to create cooperative projects within the framework of ICBC Khorgos.
"We invite Armenian companies to actively participate in the activities of ICBC Khorgos, which opens up the possibility of entering the Chinese market. A favorable investment climate has been formed in Kazakhstan, and the necessary tools have been created to encourage foreign investment. The projects are supported at all stages," Serik Zhumangarin said.
It is noted that the parties also discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in the field of processing agricultural products.
