The government has initiated talks with state and private sector stakeholders to strengthen Sri Lanka’s dairy industry, aiming to meet local milk demand and tap into export opportunities.
The meeting chaired by the Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development focused on strategies to empower dairy farmers, encourage new entrepreneurs to enter the industry, and strengthen marketing channels for dairy-related products.
The Industrial Development Board, Export Development Board, Small Enterprises Division, and the National Enterprise Development Authority are expected to contribute towards implementing these initiatives.
