Andrey Shin Initiates Food Ingredients Factory
The Shin-Line Group has commissioned the Segmenta company's plant in the Almaty Region. The enterprise produces food flavorings, complex additives, and breading systems for Kazakh and foreign food manufacturers.
The plant covers an area of 3,000 square meters, with a production capacity of up to 8,000 tons annually. The facility includes its own warehousing complex. The product line features liquid flavorings, multi-component food additives, and breading solutions.
The production facility includes a research base for analyzing and developing new flavor profiles. More than 3,000 ingredients, supplied by international companies from France, Italy, Germany, India, and the USA, are used in production.
The components are intended for enterprises producing beverages, dairy and confectionery products, bakery items, and snacks. They will also be used by meat-processing and poultry enterprises.
The Segmenta project is part of Shin-Line Group's program to create a food cluster in Kazakhstan. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the program envisages attracting up to 300 billion tenge of foreign investments, deeper raw material processing, expanding export opportunities, and creating high-tech jobs.
"The opening of the Segmenta plant is an example of creating a high-tech, high-value-added production base within a single cluster," said Shin-Line Group President Andrey Shin. According to him, cooperation, international experience, and localization of ingredient production should contribute to the development of the region, job creation, and the production of Kazakh food products for the international market.
Previously, Shin-Line had announced a partnership with South Korean Sungwon to produce Korean-style ice cream. Additionally, Shin-Line Group and Lotte Global Logistics agreed to create the Shin-Line Lotte Global Logistics transport and logistics operator. Investments in this project are estimated at approximately 1 billion tenge; Lotte Global Logistics will receive 51% of the new company, and Shin-Line 49%. The partnership terms are stipulated in a memorandum signed in Seoul.
