Russia Places Nestlé Russia Under Temporary Administration
Russia’s presidential decree was published on September 17 and names Nestlé Russia as being subject to temporary external administration. The measure concerns the Russian operations of the Swiss dairy company Nestlé.
Nestlé said it had taken note of the decree. The company did not set out further details of the administration in its statement, but said it was assessing the situation and the options available to it.
The company said it was committed to taking all necessary steps to protect its rights. Its statement did not specify which legal or other measures would be pursued.
Nestlé also said it aimed to ensure continuity of its business operations. It linked that commitment to the interests of all stakeholders, with particular reference to its employees.
The statement was issued after the decree’s publication and did not provide information on the duration of the temporary administration, its management arrangements, or any changes to Nestlé Russia’s activities. Nestlé’s position was that the situation remained under assessment.
