Royale Estate Group's Mohali Industrial Economic Zone (MIEZ) is set to significantly bolster the industrial sector of the Tricity area—comprising Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir—with the establishment of a new Rs 150-crore dairy manufacturing unit by Gopal’s Sweets Pvt. Ltd. This strategic development marks a substantial step towards transforming the industrial landscape of the region.

Gopal’s Sweets, a leading dairy products brand in the northern states, has chosen MIEZ for its central location and logistical advantages. According to Sharanjit Singh, Managing Director of Gopal’s Sweets, the zone's proximity to major transport hubs like an International Airport, the largest Railway Junction of the region, and the Dry Port of Shambhu barrier was pivotal in their decision. The new facility, set to be the biggest in the region for manufacturing sweets, snacks, bakery, and other dairy products, aligns with the company's need for a strategically placed manufacturing hub to meet the perishable nature of their products efficiently.

MIEZ spreads over 150 acres with plans to expand to 500 acres in the next three years. The zone not only caters to the dairy industry but also houses more than 50 other reputed industries, including pharmaceuticals, food processing, and agro-products. An example is the nearly completed food processing unit that spans four acres and entails an investment of over Rs 100 crore. This plant, approved by the Ministry of Food Processing, Government of India, will eliminate the need for Punjab's farm produce to be sent to Uttarakhand for processing, providing substantial benefits to local farmers and food producers.

Ashish Mittal, Director of MIEZ, highlighted the diverse industrial presence in the zone, ranging from engineering and auto parts to pharmaceuticals and furniture. The industries benefit from government initiatives such as Invest Punjab and the MSME "Make in India" program, fostering a conducive environment for industrial growth.

Neeraj Kansal, Managing Director of Royale Estate Group, envisions MIEZ as a catalyst for an industrial revolution in the region. The township is designed to be modern and comprehensive, equipped with facilities like a Convention Centre, a central Reception lobby, Meeting Rooms, a Conference Hall, a Food Court, a Fully Equipped Laboratory, a Skill Development Centre, and a Staff Canteen.
