Rosselkhoznadzor has initiated the suspension of certification for high-fat dairy products from all Kazakh producers, effectively limiting the supply of key dairy product categories to the Russian market. This was reported by Dairynews.today, referencing a letter from Rosselkhoznadzor dated 27.02.2026 No. FS-KS-7/3356, a copy of which is available to the editorial staff.
Russia Suspends Certification of Butter, Cheese, and Milk Powder from Kazakhstan

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance has approached the veterinary service of Kazakhstan with a request to suspend the issuance of veterinary certificates for the supply of butter, cream, cheese, and dry dairy products to Russia starting from March 2, 2026.

At the same time, the territorial departments of Rosselkhoznadzor have been instructed to ensure control over the prevention of the importation of these products into the territory of the Russian Federation from the specified date.

Products shipped on or before March 2, 2026, will be accepted in the usual manner, allowing for the completion of already processed export operations without additional restrictions, as noted in the letter.

The restrictions apply to all Kazakh enterprises supplying products with a high dairy fat content to Russia. This concerns a segment that includes the most profitable categories of dairy processing—such as butter, cheese, and milk powder.
