Rosselkhoznadzor Reveals Leading Regions in Animal Registration

Sergey Dankvert, head of Rosselkhoznadzor, presented data on regions with the highest number of farm animals registered in the 'Horriot' system. The leaders vary by livestock type: Dagestan ranks first in cattle and small ruminants, while Belgorod region leads in pigs and poultry.

Sergey Dankvert reported the results of animal registration in the 'Horriot' component during the plenary session of the II International Forum 'Veterinary Safety'. According to him, digital livestock accounting aims to enhance veterinary control efficiency without increasing the burden on farms.

In the cattle category, Dagestan secured the top position with 987.3 thousand heads. Bashkiria registered 813.5 thousand heads, and Tatarstan recorded 781.9 thousand, placing them second and third, respectively.

Dagestan also led in the number of registered small ruminants, with 4.352 million heads. Kalmykia followed with 1.338 million, and Astrakhan region registered 1.064 million heads.

In the swine industry, Belgorod region reported the highest figure at 4.968 million heads. Voronezh region registered 2.035 million pigs, and Kursk region recorded 2.02 million.

Belgorod region also leads in the number of tagged agricultural poultry, with 46.047 million heads. Leningrad region follows with 31.229 million, and Chelyabinsk region with 26.337 million heads.

'Horriot' is part of the Federal State Information System 'VetIS'. Overall, the component has registered 16.08 million heads of cattle, 28.35 million pigs, 15.353 million small ruminants, and 567.01 million poultry.
