Discover which milk brand in Mexico contains the least amount of protein according to Profeco's analysis.

Consumers in Mexico might need to take a closer look at their favorite milk brands, as a recent study conducted by the Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) highlighted disparities in protein content among different milk products.

Profeco's Quality Analysis

Profeco tested 20 milk products for their commercial information, protein, carbohydrates, sanitary quality, density, fat, energy content, net content, and non-fat solids. The results were surprising for many consumers.

The Brand with the Lowest Protein

According to Profeco, the milk brand Gota Blanca Bajío has the lowest protein content among all those tested. A 250 ml serving contains only 3.75 grams of protein, along with 5.03 grams of fat, 14.62 grams of carbohydrates, and 119 kilocalories.

Despite the low-fat and kilocalorie count, which might suggest a healthy option, the minimal protein percentage means it fails to meet expected nutritional benefits.

Health Implications

Milk is a staple in Mexican diets, providing essential nutrients such as calcium, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water. Profeco's findings encourage consumers to reconsider their brand choices to ensure adequate nutrition, particularly protein intake.

As awareness grows, it becomes crucial for consumers to assess the nutritional labels of milk products more carefully, ensuring they align with dietary needs and health goals.
