Mexican Profeco Recommends Affordable Milk Brands for January
According to Profeco, several milk options in Mexico can be budget-friendly alternatives for consumers this January. Market analysis conducted by the agency has identified three milk brands that are significantly cheaper than Santa Clara while maintaining quality standards.
Finding reliable and affordable essential goods is crucial for consumers, and milk is no exception. Profeco's recent revelation highlights three whole milk brands that are economical and of adequate quality:
- Valley Foods: Sold in Soriana for approximately 15.15 pesos per liter.
- Great Value: Available in Walmart stores, priced around 18.84 pesos per liter.
- Selecto Brand: Can be found in Chedraui stores, with a price of about 18.96 pesos per liter.
Profeco’s Director, Iván Escalante, emphasized that these options provide substantial cost savings, with prices ranging between 15.15 and 18.96 pesos, in contrast to brands priced between 29.68 and 32 pesos.
Profeco advises consumers to ensure they are purchasing actual milk rather than dairy products with differing nutritional values. Consumers should check expiration dates and store pasteurized products under refrigeration to maintain quality and safety.
