French Ambassador Highlights Priorities for Agricultural Cooperation with Kazakhstan at AqAltyn Congress
At the beginning of his speech, the diplomat noted that the dairy industry holds a central place in France's agricultural structure.
According to the ambassador, there are about 58,000 dairy farms in France, ensuring sustainable production and deep processing of products. "This is the foundation of the country's agri-food economy," he emphasized.
Sylvain Guioche pointed out that the French model is based on strong cooperative structures, genetic technologies, innovations in feeding, and high-quality standards.
The ambassador noted that the conditions for livestock development in Kazakhstan and France differ significantly — in terms of climate, farm structure, population density, and degree of industrialization.
Nevertheless, he said, Kazakhstan has significant growth potential, especially in industrial dairy farming, where French technologies and solutions can be transferred.
The diplomat placed special emphasis on the current level of cooperation: about 20% of Kazakhstan's dairy imports fr om the EU originate from France.
According to Sylvain Guioche, this is not the lim it. France's available technological solutions — in genetics, feeding, herd management, process automation — have already proven effective in international projects and can be adapted to Kazakhstan's conditions.
"The sector demonstrates rich potential, opening up opportunities for expanded cooperation with France," noted the ambassador.
The ambassador also emphasized the importance of French developments in genetics, highlighting that this area will remain one of the flagships of bilateral cooperation.
He noted that France is ready to share its expertise in:
-
dairy cattle genetics,
-
breeding and breed management,
-
innovative feeding approaches,
-
digitalization of dairy farming.
"Our joint efforts should become the foundation for successful cooperation," emphasized the diplomat.
Sylvain Guioche expressed hope that joint efforts — from technology exchange to the implementation of specific projects — will contribute to the development of Kazakhstan's dairy sector.
