Ornua launches Kerrygold investment

The €40 million investment by Ornua in Kerrygold Park, a butter production facility in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, has been described as a "significant milestone" by Ireland's Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue.
The investment enhances the facility's capacity to produce over one million retail packs of butter per day or around 80,000 tons of butter annually. The plant now includes two state-of-the-art butter churns and 10 packing lines for over 50 different product formats distributed to more than 60 global markets. The investment is seen as crucial for the strategic growth of the Kerrygold brand. The project will also create 30 jobs at the facility. The expansion was partly supported by a €5 million grant from the Capital Investment Scheme operated by Enterprise Ireland.
