Nestlé to Shift Dairy Operations from Nicaraguan Plant in Response to Global Dynamics
Situated in the northern region of Nicaragua, the Matagalpa plant is primarily engaged in the production of dairy products under the Prolacsa brand.

Juan Gabriel Reyes, CEO of Nestlé Central America, stated that the company intends to gradually relocate the entire manufacturing operations of Prolacsa to other facilities in Latin America. This decision is framed as a strategic move at the regional level to ensure the continued provision of high-quality, affordable products to consumers.

Reyes emphasized Nestlé's commitment to overseeing the commercial management and sales of its products in Nicaragua, as well as the procurement of green coffee for Nestlé's global operations. Despite the closure of the dairy plant, Nestlé will maintain its role in purchasing 13% of the country's coffee.
