The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has raised an alert concerning the presence of fake Arla Dano 14g sachet full cream milk powder in circulation within major cities across Nigeria.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of NAFDAC, conveyed that investigations by TG Arla Dairy Product Enterprise, the registered certificate holder, uncovered the widespread availability of counterfeit products in various markets.

Adeyeye specified that the forged products bear batch numbers 7A08016:01 and 8A0306:36, accompanied by expiry dates of May 2024 and February 2024, respectively.

To address this issue, NAFDAC has instructed its zonal directors and state coordinators to conduct extensive surveillance and take measures to remove the counterfeit milk powder from the market.

The statement emphasized the importance of caution and vigilance for distributors, retailers, and consumers, urging them to scrutinize the authenticity and physical condition of the products before consumption, sale, or distribution.

It further advised individuals who possess the counterfeit Arla Dano 14g full cream Milk Powder to surrender their stock to the nearest NAFDAC office. Additionally, those who have consumed the product and experienced adverse reactions or events are encouraged to seek immediate medical advice from qualified healthcare professionals.

NAFDAC urged consumers to report any adverse events or side effects related to the consumption of unwholesome packaged food products to the nearest NAFDAC office.
