According to a report by the Eurasian Economic Commission, milk production in the EAEU countries increased by 2.4% in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. This growth is seen against the backdrop of a general increase in agricultural production in the region by 2%.
Among the EAEU member states, Belarus demonstrated the highest growth in agriculture, increasing production by 10.2%. Armenia also saw an increase in production by 4.3%, Kazakhstan by 3.4%, and Kyrgyzstan by 3.3%, while Russia showed a modest growth of 0.9%.
Milk production increased in all EAEU member countries except Armenia. While Armenia did not show growth in milk production, the other countries experienced steady increases in volume. This is also reflected in the overall increase in livestock and poultry production for slaughter, which contributed to the overall strengthening of the agricultural sector in the region.
At the same time, egg production in the EAEU decreased by 0.9%, which contrasts with the positive trend in milk production.
