Kovalus Separation Solutions, previously known as Koch Separation Solutions, has announced a $20 million investment to establish a new 140,000 square-foot facility in Mexico dedicated to spiral membrane element assembly.
This strategic move aims to boost the company's production capacity by 50%, responding to the increasing demands from the Food, Beverage, Life Science, and Industrial sectors.
Manny Singh, CEO of Kovalus, highlighted the significance of this expansion: "This new facility marks a major step in our growth trajectory, allowing us to enhance service to our customers in critical industries by improving operational sustainability and profitability through advanced membrane technology."
The decision to locate the facility in Mexico was influenced by several factors, including the country's proximity to key markets, the availability of skilled labor, and its improving infrastructure. The facility is poised to begin operational qualification by the end of 2024.
Singh added, "All core membrane technology for our spiral products will still be produced at our Massachusetts headquarters, maintaining our commitment to quality and consistency across all product lines." This approach ensures that the new facility will operate in alignment with Kovalus’s stringent Quality Management and Membrane Development standards, facilitating ongoing innovation and performance consistency.

It follows a previous expansion at the company’s RELCO facility in Willmar, Minnesota, earlier this year.
