By the end of 2025, the volume of Kazakh ice cream exports exceeded imports, marking a key indicator of increasing competitiveness of local producers in domestic and international markets. Ice cream production in Kazakhstan reached 63.2 thousand tons in 2025, reports Dairynews.today citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Kazakhstan Becomes a Net Exporter of Ice Cream for the First Time

This is 22% more than the previous year and represents the highest growth rate in the industry since the early 2000s.

Kazakhstan's ice cream exports increased by 36.8% over the year, reaching 14.2 thousand tons. The main export destinations were Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

At the same time, ice cream imports to Kazakhstan continued to decline. In 2025, import volumes decreased by 5.1%, to 12.2 thousand tons. This trend indicates the strengthening position of local products and the gradual replacement of imports in the domestic market.

The positive trend continues in 2026. From January to March, ice cream production in Kazakhstan grew by 58.6%, reaching 14,566 tons. This indicates further expansion of production capacities and sustained high demand for the product.

The key player in the export market remains the company 'Shin-Line', accounting for up to 95% of Kazakh ice cream exports. By the end of 2025, the company's exports reached 14.2 thousand tons, increasing by more than a third, with export revenue exceeding $49 million.

'Shin-Line's' supply geography covers more than ten countries, including China, Russia, Belarus, Mongolia, and countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia. The company ranks fourth among ice cream producers in the CIS countries.

One of the growth factors has been investments in production infrastructure. The 'Shin-Line' plant in Baiserke is located on a 50-hectare area and is among the largest industry enterprises in the region. The total investment in the company's production capacities reached 64 billion tenge, and the number of employees exceeded 3,500.

The growth in export revenue is supported not only by increasing physical volumes of supplies but also by rising average export prices. In 2025, it reached $3.47 per kg.
