InLac's Campaign Achieves 500 Million Impacts Despite Consumption Challenges

InLac Campaign Concludes with High Impact
The Interprofessional Dairy Organization's (InLac) campaign, supported by the European Union, concluded with a staggering 500 million impacts across potential consumers in Spain and Belgium. Launched in March 2022, this three-year initiative promoted the benefits of European dairy products through various communication channels, aiming to highlight their positive nutritional and environmental values.
Challenges in Dairy Consumption
Despite achieving significant outreach, the campaign results reveal that only one-third of Spanish households adhere to the daily recommended dairy intake. A comprehensive study by Ikerfel noted that while 98% of homes regularly stock dairy products, daily consumption rates remain at 90% for milk, 65% for yogurt, and lower for other dairy products.
Efforts in Sustainability and Education
InLac's president, Javier Roza, praised the diverse efforts undertaken, which include educating consumers on dairy's health benefits and sustainable practices. These efforts were strongly supported by InLac's Committee of Sustainability, comprised of renowned experts. The campaign also tackled misinformation in the nutrition sector, reinforcing dairy's image as a sustainable, quality choice.
Future Plans and Industry Insights
Looking forward, the EU has approved the continuation of InLac's initiatives through 2027, with an enhanced focus on sustainability, innovation, and digitalization. Agriculture Minister Luis Planas emphasized collaboration across research institutions and the agricultural sector as crucial for the industry's evolution. With these strategies, the dairy sector aims to tackle both environmental challenges and ensure a generational continuity among farmers.
