In Chile National Reception of Raw Milk Grows by 3.8% to February

The latest analysis by the Federación Nacional de Productores de Leche (Fedeleche), using data from the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa), shows that the national reception of raw milk in Chile rose to 387.3 million liters by February 2025. This marks a 3.8% increase compared to the same period in the previous year, translating to an additional 14 million liters. This growth signifies a 14-month positive trend in the industry.

Regional data highlights varying performances. The region of Los Ríos, accounting for 35.8% of the national reception, saw an increase of 9.2%, while Bio-Bio showed a significant rise of 40.5%. However, the Metropolitan Region experienced a decline of 10.7%. February alone saw a 4.4% rise in raw milk reception, totaling 179.2 million liters.

These figures reflect the robust demand and efficient production management in Chile's dairy sector, as different regions contribute variably to this trend. In Los Ríos, for instance, milk reception increased from 127.2 to 138.8 million liters, an interannual rise of 11.7 million liters. Meanwhile, the Araucanía region reported a 7.5% rise, bringing its total to 31.1 million liters.
