ILRI and Ethiopian Universities Forge Partnership to Innovate Dairy Sector
The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with seven Ethiopian universities: Adigrat, Aksum, Ambo, Bonga, Jimma, Mekele, and Raya. This landmark collaboration aims to integrate academic research with practical applications to significantly boost the productivity and sustainability of Ethiopia’s dairy sector over the next five years.
The partnership envisions a transformative role for these universities. They will offer specialized curricula, foster practical training experiences for students, and promote entrepreneurship through the establishment of business incubation centres in the dairy sector. This initiative not only aims to enhance dairy production but also seeks to empower the next generation of dairy entrepreneurs in Ethiopia.
