Over the past five years, ice cream production in Kyrgyzstan has grown significantly, rising from 5,200 tons to 10,800 tons, with export volumes more than doubling from 2,700 tons to 6,100 tons, according to the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The main importers of Kyrgyz ice cream are Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. The ministry notes that products from Kyrgyzstan are in high demand in these countries, which supports steady export growth.
Simultaneously, ice cream imports to Kyrgyzstan have decreased from 2,780 tons to 1,900 tons, indicating increased domestic production and self-sufficiency in the sector.
The ministry emphasized that supporting local producers and boosting export potential remain priorities for the development of the country's food industry, as high-value-added products strengthen Kyrgyzstan's position in international markets.
