HP Hood LLC has issued a voluntary recall of five SKUs of 96 oz containers of LACTAID Milk due to potential trace amounts of almond, which is not declared on the label. This poses a serious health risk for consumers with almond allergies or sensitivities, as consuming the affected product could trigger severe allergic reactions.

While no illnesses have been reported, the recall applies to products distributed to retailers and wholesalers across 28 states, including AL, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, TX, VA, WI, and WY. The affected LACTAID Milk containers were shipped between September 5, 2024, and September 18, 2024.

The recall involves 96 oz. plastic containers of LACTAID Milk with the code 51-4109 P2 and specific Best By Dates, which are marked on the top-center area of the packaging. Only products with this code and the specified Best By Dates are impacted.

HP Hood discovered this issue through routine maintenance programs. Consumers who have purchased the affected product are encouraged to return it to the store for a full refund or exchange. For further assistance, customers can contact Hood Consumer Affairs at 800-242-2423 (Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM ET).

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the US Food and Drug Administration.
