Brazilian dairy company Grupo Piracanjuba acquires Natulact, establishing its first manufacturing site in the north-east region.

Grupo Piracanjuba has strategically acquired Natulact, a dairy business based in Notre Senhora da Glória, Sergipe, marking its first production facility in Brazil's north-east. This acquisition aims to bolster Piracanjuba's competitive edge and expand its operational footprint. The newly acquired facility is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the company's presence in key Brazilian dairy markets.
With the inclusion of Natulact's cheese and dairy product lines like mozzarella and minas frescal, Piracanjuba plans to increase its production capacity progressively. Notably, Grupo Piracanjuba's portfolio spans over 200 products under various brands such as Piracanjuba, Emana, and LeitBom, with plans to transition Natulact's products to carry the Piracanjuba brand over time.
This transaction, still pending approval from Brazil's competition authority, is set to retain approximately 260 jobs at the Natulact site. Meanwhile, industry peers, like Lactalis, are also investing heavily in Brazil's dairy market, underscoring the region's growing importance in the sector.
