FrieslandCampina has announced an increase in its guaranteed price for farm milk for September 2024, setting the new rate at €51.00 per 100 kilogrammes. This marks a rise of €1.75 compared to the previous month, driven by expectations of continued growth in reference prices due to increasing market demand and a favorable adjustment for the preceding period.

For the year 2024, the average guaranteed price for farm milk up to and including September now stands at €47.47 per 100 kilogrammes.

The FrieslandCampina guaranteed price is paid out based on the milk components of protein and fat, with a fixed distribution ratio of 6:4. The guaranteed price is stated per 100 kilogrammes of farm milk, which contains 3.58% protein and 4.45% fat, and is exclusive of VAT. This pricing applies to an average annual supply of 925,000 kilogrammes of farm milk.

September Component Values

For September, the value of protein is set at €779.02, while the value of fat is €519.35 per 100 kilogrammes.

The guaranteed price represents the amount FrieslandCampina pledges to pay its member dairy farmers for the milk they supply. This price reflects the average farm milk price paid by various dairy companies across northwestern Europe. It includes supplementary payments, registered reservations, seasonal supplements, quantity supplements, maximum quality supplements, and cooperative supplements or charges, ensuring that the guaranteed price is competitive and reflective of broader market trends.
