FrieslandCampina's subsidiary, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (DLMI), celebrated the opening of its state-of-the-art dairy plant in Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, on May 30, 2024.

The facility, named DLMI@Enstek, is equipped with cutting-edge technology and is poised to double the company's production capacity to meet the increasing demand for high-quality dairy products in the region.

The new plant is a key component of DLMI's sustainability roadmap, designed to achieve a 30 percent reduction in energy and water consumption by 2030, compared to its 2022 baseline. This initiative underscores DLMI’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices while enhancing operational capabilities.

During the opening ceremony, Ramjeet Kaur Virik, Managing Director of DLMI, expressed her enthusiasm about the new facility: “After years of preparations, we are now operational. I extend my sincere thanks to all the partners, government agencies, and colleagues who helped make this fantastic project a reality.”

Jan Derck van Karnebeek, CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V., also highlighted the strategic importance of the new plant in his address, noting, “At FrieslandCampina, we believe that everyone should have access to safe and nutritious food. This new production site will enable us to produce more high-quality and nutritious dairy products for consumers in Malaysia and the region, thus contributing to food security.”

The plant opening was graced by the presence of the ruler of Negeri Sembilan, the Dutch ambassador in Malaysia, and other dignitaries, signaling a significant commitment to enhancing the dairy industry's infrastructure and sustainability practices in Malaysia.
