Fonterra Prepares for Board Elections with New Candidates

Nominations have begun for two farmer-elected director positions on the Fonterra Co-operative Group's Board of Directors for the 2026 election, as confirmed by Farmers Weekly. At least one new representative will join the co-operative's governance due to the retirement of long-standing director Brent Goldsack, who steps down after three terms totaling nine years. Cathy Quinn, another incumbent director, is seeking re-election.

Fonterra's Independent Assessment Process is now open for submissions until mid-August. This allows candidates to be evaluated by an independent panel led by Mark Verbiest, along with directors Patrick Strange and Dame Therese Walsh. The panel's assessment results will be published in September, after which a self-nomination period will open in October.
