CEO Miles Hurrell highlighted the deep internal talent pool, noting both appointees' extensive experience within the co-op. "Richard and René have demonstrated exemplary leadership and possess a thorough understanding of our operations, making them ideal for guiding our strategic ventures," Hurrell commented.

Allen, a Fonterra veteran since 2008, has contributed to various capacities across the company, notably in Foodservice and Farm Source within New Zealand, and most recently overseeing operations across the Americas and Europe. "Richard's commercial acumen will be crucial in fostering strategic customer relationships and enhancing value in our ingredients sector globally," added Hurrell.

Dedoncker has been with Fonterra since 2005 and has spearheaded its Australian operations since 2017, guiding them through significant transitions including the recent merger forming Fonterra Oceania. His new role will focus on leading the potential divestment of the Global Markets Consumer business and advancing the Foodservice business outside Greater China.

The changes are scheduled for August 1, 2024, coinciding with the departure of Global Markets CEO Judith Swales.

In a related move, Emma Parsons, currently Managing Director Strategy & Optimisation, has been appointed CEO of Kotahi Logistics LP, effective October 1, 2024. Kotahi, a joint venture between Fonterra and Silver Fern Farms, plays a pivotal role in managing New Zealand’s containerised freight to bolster the country's competitive edge globally. "Emma’s comprehensive experience and strategic insight within Fonterra make her the ideal leader to take on the challenges at Kotahi," stated Hurrell.
