Farm Dairy and PlanetDairy Unite to Launch Sustainable Dairy-Plant Milk Blends

Farm Dairy of the Netherlands and PlanetDairy from Denmark are pioneering a new path in the dairy industry by merging the benefits of traditional dairy with the sustainability of plant-based substitutes. This strategic collaboration has resulted in a unique line of milk products that combine high-quality dairy with plant ingredients. Announced at the PLMA’s annual World of Private Label International Trade Show in Amsterdam, this innovative milk drink promises to deliver both taste and sustainability in skimmed, semi-skimmed, and whole variants.
With an impressive minimum 20% reduction in CO2 emissions, validated by CarbonCloud, this product range is set to transform consumer choices across Europe by aligning with corporate sustainability objectives. Jakob Skovgaard, co-founder and CEO of PlanetDairy, emphasized that consumers' priorities lie with sustainable food solutions without sacrificing taste, nutrition, or affordability. He stated, "After the success and learnings from of our blended cheese products in the Nordics, we are now tackling the largest dairy category – milk.”
Arend Bouwer, managing director of Farm Dairy, expressed excitement about exploring new territories within the dynamic dairy sector with this launch. He reiterated the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The new range strives to capture the interest of 'flexitarian' consumers by offering a quality product that aligns with environmental consciousness. Both companies envisage that this innovative range will soon set the standard for dairy products that blend plant ingredients.
Skovgaard further explained their target demographic: "We are targeting dairy lovers who are mindful about the environmental impact of traditional dairy." By offering products at retail prices and tastes comparable to traditional dairy, they hope to broaden their consumer base. Furthermore, both companies are committed to continually developing this category, with plans to include dairy-plant blends in yogurts and sweet desserts.
