The collaborative venture, headquartered in Iseyin, Oyo State, aims to bolster dairy production by initiating the production of 300 heifers within the inaugural year of the project. By December 2026, this figure is projected to double, with Fan Milk importing 100 pregnant heifers from Egypt to fortify the farm's operations.

Under the terms of the five-year partnership agreement, Fan Milk PLC will serve as the off-taker of the freshly produced milk and will provide comprehensive training and technical capacity building for personnel involved in the project.

The alliance is poised to generate employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas, while simultaneously fostering positive relationships with local communities. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chairman of Obasanjo Farms Limited, underscored the significance of empowering local farmers through training and capacity-building initiatives, thereby contributing to Nigeria's agricultural sector's growth.

Herve Barrere, General Manager of Danone Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized the partnership's focus on sourcing raw materials locally, empowering farmers, and enhancing their livelihoods, thereby fortifying the agricultural sector's growth trajectory.

This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in Fan Milk PLC's commitment to backward integration, aligning with the Nigerian government's agenda of ensuring food security, fostering economic growth, and eradicating poverty.

Olusegun Ariyo, Project Lead for Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its role in advancing the Nigerian dairy industry's ambitions.

Kayode Adebiyi, Managing Director of Fan Milk PLC, lauded the strategic alliance's potential to elevate local dairy production, diminish import dependency, and promote sustainable agricultural practices, underscoring the synergy between the two companies' strengths.
