Economic Impact of Milk Production in Durango Revealed

According to the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), Durango is firmly positioned among Mexico's top three milk-producing states.
From January to December 2023, Durango produced a total of 1,515 million liters of milk, which was sold at 8.61 pesos per liter. This yield generated approximately 13,044 million pesos during the year.
Key Production Regions
The bulk of Durango's milk production occurs in the La Laguna region, with Gómez Palacio leading production efforts at 358 million liters annually. Lerdo follows close behind with 296 million liters, while the municipalities of Nuevo Ideal, Tlahualilo, and Durango also contribute to the state's overall yield.
