In Tajikistan, certain batches of baby food under the Nutrilon and 'Malyutka' brands are being withdrawn from circulation following the identification of a potential risk of cereulide toxin presence. The decision was made based on a notification from the manufacturer, Danone, and an appeal from the official importer LLC 'Rushon'.
Danone Recalls Nutrilon and 'Malyutka' in Tajikistan Due to Toxin Risk

According to the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification, and Trade Inspection, specific batches of Nutrilon Premium and 'Malyutka 1 Gold' products in various packaging are subject to recall. The products are already being removed from retail sales, and consumers are advised not to use them and to return them to the place of purchase.

The reason is the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the Bacillus cereus bacteria. This compound can cause acute food poisoning with rapid onset of symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, and cramps.

The regulator emphasizes that the restrictions apply exclusively to the specified batches. Other products of these brands can remain in circulation.

This situation is not isolated. In January 2026, the sale of specific batches of baby food under the NAN brand was also suspended in the country. At that time, the issue was also related to the potential presence of cereulide, including in ingredients such as arachidonic acid.

Previously, similar risks were confirmed by Nestlé, which reported potential contamination of certain batches of baby food at the end of 2025.
