Danone Canada Issues Recall for Kirkland Probiotic Yogurt Sold at Costco Due to Safety Concerns

Danone Canada has announced the recall of Kirkland Signature Probiotic Yogurt, sold at Costco warehouses between September 3 and September 19, 2024. The recall affects products with "best before" dates of October 18, 20, and 22. The yogurt, sold in packs of 24, may contain a type of yeast that could pose health risks to individuals with compromised immune systems.
While the food safety risk is considered low, as the yeast is not known to grow in refrigerated temperatures, Danone Canada advises customers not to consume the product. Affected consumers can return the yogurt to Costco for a full refund.
This marks the second recall from Danone Canada this month, following a similar action on September 12 for Kirkland Signature Greek Yogurt due to the detection of mold.
Danone Canada has apologized for the inconvenience and encourages customers to inform anyone who may have received the product.
