Dairygold Shareholders to Address Concerns Over Milk Price Cuts

A group of ‘concerned’ Dairygold shareholders is set to convene tonight after the company announced a reduction in the milk price for May. The meeting, organized by the Concerned Dairygold Shareholders Committee, will focus on examining milk pricing, representative structures, and lessons from the Munster Dairy Producer Organisation.

Recently, Dairygold reduced its quoted milk price by 1c/L to 49c/L for May supplies, which equates to an average farm gate milk price of 53.4c/L, based on the average May 2025 milk solids achieved by suppliers. Despite robust dairy commodity prices, global supply and demand imbalances have influenced this decision.

A company spokesperson highlighted challenges such as increased supply, sector-specific demand issues, geopolitical concerns, and the impact of Trump tariffs as factors affecting returns. The board is committed to monitoring market conditions and reviewing milk prices monthly to navigate this uncertain environment.
