Danish dairy giant Arla Foods has introduced a new range of milk-based meal-replacement drinks in its home market. Branded as Protein Food to Go, the product line is set to launch in England and the Netherlands following its initial rollout in Denmark.
Available in chocolate caramel and vanilla hazelnut flavors, the drinks are fortified with vitamins, minerals, and 12g of fibre, while also providing 30g of protein per serving.
Henrik Lilballe, Managing Director of Arla Denmark, emphasized the company’s intent to lead the development of the meal-replacement beverage market. “Our aim is to collaborate with our customers to expand this emerging category within milk-based drinks,” Lilballe stated.
He acknowledged that the concept of “drinking meals” is still relatively unfamiliar to Danish consumers, adding that there is substantial work ahead in educating the market on how and when these products can be integrated into daily routines.
