Alquería Implements Advanced Quality Controls and Expands B2B Business
Alquería, a prominent dairy company in Colombia, has upgraded its quality control system to include a new technology that can detect the presence of whey in raw milk within ten minutes. This advancement is part of the company's commitment to ensuring high-quality products before processing. Alquería plans to conduct over 9,000 additional verifications annually using this system, which classifies samples as acceptable, questionable, or rejected before the milk is offloaded.
In cases where potential contamination is identified, the milk is not processed, and the system allows for tracing the source of the issue back to the specific establishment, transporter, or vehicle involved. This new mechanism complements existing controls, under which Alquería analyzed more than 21,600 samples of raw milk and finished products in 2025 to verify their composition. The company also holds an international Quality Chekd certification, which in 2025 covered 38 products in its portfolio.
Alongside these quality enhancements, Alquería is focusing on expanding its business-to-business (B2B) channel, which experienced double-digit growth in 2025. The company has added over 2,500 additional tons of products aimed at the food service sector. While milk remains the primary product in this segment, there is increasing demand for products like cream, culinary creams, and arequipe among restaurants, hotels, cafés, bakeries, and confectioneries.
This strategic expansion is part of Alquería's efforts to diversify its revenue streams and strengthen its presence in the market, where a significant share of food consumption is taking place outside the home.
