Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, the implementation of the construction of new dairy farms in Kazakhstan was discussed at a Government meeting.
The projects are being implemented as part of a large project that started in 2023 and is based on the experience of the North Kazakhstan region on preferential loans for the dairy industry, Dairynews.today reports with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is planned that 65 dairy farms will be built for the first tranche of 100 billion tenge at 2.5% per annum by the end of 2024. The largest number of them — 17 projects — is concentrated in North Kazakhstan region, where entrepreneurs also invest their own funds totaling 54.5 billion tenge for the implementation of projects.
At the meeting, Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzhehanuly said that the disbursement of funds under the tranche is 94.4%, and 20 dairy farms have already been put into operation. Construction is being completed on 24 more projects, including the regions of Zhetysu, Abai and Turkestan regions. However, in the East Kazakhstan and Almaty regions, there is a lag in terms of deadlines — the disbursement of funds here amounted to 86% and 71.7%, respectively. In the Almaty region, out of 12 planned projects, six are at risk of failure, and in East Kazakhstan region, out of six planned farms, one project has not yet been identified.
In response to the reports of the heads of the regions, Serik Zhumangarin stressed the need for activation and instructed to complete the construction of all planned facilities in the fourth quarter of 2024.
