Danone Launches €100M Global Upskilling Initiative to Prepare Workforce for Future Challenges
The initiative, named DanSkills, will span across all 55 countries where Danone operates, including the UK.

Over the next decade until 2030, Danone intends to redirect 1 million training hours annually towards equipping its workforce with "tomorrow's skills," with a focus on areas such as artificial intelligence and sustainability.

As part of this initiative, Danone will establish a specialized management training center at its Evian site. The training opportunities will be accessible to all employees, irrespective of their qualifications, age, or current job roles.

Moreover, the implementation of the DanSkills program is anticipated to facilitate the creation of 2,500 new roles in Europe by 2027, according to projections by the company.

A spokesperson from Danone emphasized that DanSkills is deeply ingrained in the company's commitment to both business success and social progress. It aims to empower employees to pursue career opportunities aligned with their professional goals, fostering innovation, efficiency, and performance within Danone.

This initiative marks the initial step in building the new "Social Pact" introduced by Danone's CEO, Antoine de Saint-Affrique, in 2023. The Social Pact initiative seeks to address the human and social challenges anticipated in the forthcoming years.

In a parallel development, Bakkavor Group, a leading provider of fresh prepared foods, recently announced the creation of 86 new apprenticeship roles across various disciplines nationwide. This record intake includes roles in food technology, health and safety, supply chain management, operations, finance, and business administration, along with a significant emphasis on engineering, with 26 roles being offered.
