Dr. Torsten Hemme, IFCN Chairman of the Advisory Board in Germany, speaking at the XV Dairy Olympics organized by Dairynews.today in Ankara, highlighted the significant growth needed in the dairy industry over the next 30 years.
"The global population is expected to increase by 2 billion. Average consumption per capita is projected to rise by 19%. This will require more technology, more innovation, and significantly more milk," stated Torsten Hemme.
"I believe that the demand for milk will increase by 40%. We will need to keep up with development rates, and we also expect a substantial increase in the prices of feed and milk. The dairy industry is not a climate killer, and a golden era awaits us!"
