In January-February 2026, Russia significantly boosted its export of dairy whey, increasing its revenue by almost 1.7 times compared to the same period last year. According to Agroexport, the export value amounted to $4.6 million, and in physical terms, it exceeded 4.6 thousand tons, a 26% increase year-over-year.

The primary driver of growth was the expansion of supplies to key markets:

  • to Belarus — an increase of 3.3 times in monetary terms,
  • to China — an increase of almost 1.7 times.

In addition, the product was exported to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Tajikistan, and other countries.

The growth in whey exports continues the trend of 2025, at the end of which revenue from the supply of this product more than doubled.

According to analysts, Russia's total export potential in the segment of dry dairy products — including whey, dry skimmed, and whole milk — could exceed $140 million by 2030, which is approximately 2.5 times more than in 2025.
