This new international trade and logistics center, opened on the Kazakh-Chinese border, near the village of Dostyk, represents a significant development of the cross-border logistics infrastructure. The project, implemented by Dostyk Storage, is aimed at increasing the capacity of the Alakol road crossing and promoting trade and economic development in the region.

Main characteristics of the project:

  • Increasing capacity: new warehouse facilities make it possible to increase the capacity of the Alakol customs post from 200 to 600 freight vehicles per day. This increases daily cargo turnover from 4 thousand to 12 thousand tons.
  • Project goal: the main goal of the project is to develop and improve cross-border logistics infrastructure.
  • Annual cargo turnover: annual cargo turnover is expected to increase from 1 to 3 million tons.
  • Transport and logistics hub: the Vice Minister of Transport noted that the transport and logistics center is the first hub on the eastern borders, which emphasizes its strategic importance.
  • Modernization of the customs post: the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan mentioned plans to complete the modernization of the Alakol customs post to increase cargo flow to 500 vehicles one way.
  • Area and investments: the Dostyk Storage logistics center is located on an area of 13.5 hectares, with private investments of more than 2.8 billion tenge. It includes the warehouse premises and infrastructure, as well as a truck parking area.
  • Management of the complex: the complex was transferred to the management of the state company Nur Zholy customs services, 100% of which is the State Revenue Committee.

These developments not only help improve transport logistics, but can also have a positive impact on the regional economy and strengthen trade relations between Kazakhstan and China.
