Experts have studied 100 countries around the world based on information about how much cheese they import and produce. In addition, the number of queries with the word "cheese" in the Google search engine was taken into account. Each country was rated on a 100-point scale.

The Netherlands received 76.8 points. The country annually imports an average of 3.1 kilograms of cheese per person, which is the highest rate in the world. The Netherlands also produces 38 varieties of cheese, including gouda and edam. On average, the Dutch search for the word "cheese" in their native language 49.5 thousand times a month.

In total, seven EU countries entered the top ten of the most "cheesy" countries in the world.
