Turkestan region leads in milk yield growth in the first half of the year among all regions of Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, in the first half of 2024, there is an increase in the production of meat, eggs and milk. Cow's milk production increased, amounting to 1.7 million tons (+ 4.3%). The largest volumes of milk were produced in the Turkestan region - 240.5 thousand tons (+ 14.1%).
Cow's milk production also increased in the following regions:
North Kazakhstan - 174.2 thousand tons (+7.9%),
Abai Region - 136.8 thousand tons (+3.3%),
Kostanay - 126.7 thousand tons (+2.4%),
Almaty - 126.5 thousand tons (+4.8%).
At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan previously cited a slightly different percentage of growth: "Milk production in Kazakhstan increased by 4.8%, amounting to 1.7 million tons. Also in the first half of the year, there was an increase in the production of cheese and cottage cheese - by 16.8%, fermented milk products - by 5.6%. "
According to the National Statistics Bureau, the largest volumes of meat were received in the following regions:
Almaty – 84.6 thousand tons (+14.1%)
Akmola – 68.8 thousand tons (-1.9%)
Turkestan – 53.5 thousand tons (+6.1%)
East Kazakhstan – 49.9 thousand tons (+3.4%)
Abay Region – 31.9 thousand tons (unchanged).
Kazakhstan continues to import some types of products from abroad:
eggs – from Belarus,
live cattle – from Hungary and Denmark,
meat – from Uruguay and the USA,
milk – from Iran and France.
